Parker Chose To Make Clothing Affordable

Sarah Jessica Parker chose to launch her clothing line with US discount store Steve & Barry’s - because she wanted to make her fashion affordable.

Although Parker, who previously modelled for Gap, was inundated with offers to design clothes for exclusive labels, but she wanted to ensure her fashion line wasn’t just going to be overpriced.

“Because of the close proximity I had with great designers during Sex And The City, I understood what it took to be a real designer… I don’t have the necessary skills. Give the money to Narciso Rodriguez or someone,” she reveals of her Bitten range.

Parker is promoting the range which comes in both large and small sizes with a t-shirt that states “Fashion Is Not A Luxury”.

And - having grown up with eight siblings all forced to wear hand-me-downs - she wanted everyone to be able to afford her clothes.

Parker added: “It was a very different idea - the concept that quality shouldn’t be a privilege and fashion shouldn’t be a luxury.”
