Outfit Pick: Mina dress

Mina's lacy dress is ruffly and floaty, just the thing to tap into this summer's romantic trend. Toughen it up with strappy wedge sandals and a leather jacket to keep off the chills. A bit of gold perks up the outfit in the form of some earrings and a necklace and a pale bag matches the dress and adds to the romance. See after the jump for full product details.

Star style: Gwyneth Paltrow and Liz Hurley are pretty in pink for breast cancer charity bash, New York

It was a pink parade last night at The Breast Cancer Research Foundation's Hottest Pink Party in New York. Estee Lauder spokesmodels Liz Hurley and Gwyneth Paltrow attended the benefit, held at the Waldorf-Astoria, and hosted by Mrs Evelyn H. Lauder herself.

As the theme suggested, all guests were asked to wear pink, with Liz Hurley reflecting her new Indian connections in a pale ombre pink sari (note: ombre is very on-trend for spring).

While Gwyneth Paltrow turned heads in a fuchsia-coloured, thigh-splitting number, featuring a black sash tied at the waist. With her new shorter curly do' it was a whole new look for the actress, and one that I hope she will stick to.

What do you think of each of their looks? We'd love to hear your comments, tell us below.

Red carpet: Renee Zellweger is plummy in Marchesa at 'Leatherheads' premiere, London

It is nice to see Renee Zellweger in town again, she can't seem to get enough of our fine shores as her previous roles in Bridget Jones and Miss Potter prove. And we are glad to have her, especially when she promotes our local fashion talent.

The actress fronted up to the U.K. première of her latest flick Leatherheads overnight in a strapless number designed by Marchesa.

While her co-star George Clooney continued to attract the ladies, Zellweger kept things sophisticated in this sumptuous plum-coloured evening dress, which gathered and ruched at the sides. The 38-year-old also stuck to her 'less is best' motto, refraining from adding accessories to her outfit.

Do you think this was a wise choice? Tell us by leaving your comments below.

Marks & Spencer's new lingerie range takes a brisk walk through London

It is definitely a way to get heads turning, and the model certainly doesn't seem to mind, but I don't know how keen I'd be on strutting through the streets of London in just my skivvies.

Nevertheless, the marketing gurus at Marks & Spencer thought it was a grand idea to help launch their latest lingerie collections today.

Pretty knickers from the store's Ceriso brand were modelled early this morning by brave model Kristina. Designs including a spot set with pink bows and a striped nautical set were on display at M&S's Marble Arch store.

If you have time on your lunch break today pop down and check them out. I already have my eye on the nautical set, and let's face it M&S knickers really are the best.

A princess in couture: Eugenie on Tatler April '08 cover

All grown up and sporting a new Katie Holmes 'do, Princess Eugenie has marked her first step into adulthood by appearing on the cover of this month's Tatler magazine. The 18-year-old followed older sister Beatrice in having her portrait taken for the magazine, in which she wears a purple silk-duchesse satin gown by Ralph Lauren. Inside the shoot, she is also featured in an array on couture gowns including that Dior dress-of-the-season (above, left) and a silk and metal dress designed by the now defunct Giles Deacon for Daks Luxury line. Vogue cops backlash over Victoria Beckham cover

Hindsight is a often a wonderful thing, although perhaps not for the staff over at British Vogue right now.

According to the Daily Star, Vogue readers are still reeling over the mag's decision to feature Victoria Beckham on the cover of its April '08 issue.

The style bible has been criticised for choosing the Spice Girl on this month's cover, with readers complaining that it turns the publication into a gossip rag.

"Normally Vogue is all about what's hip and what's not and features a stunning amazon of a woman on the cover who is associated with cutting edge fashion," commented one fashion fan. "Instead we get a modestly talented dancer who likes clothes and who was lucky enough to engineer her way into one of the biggest girl groups in the world."

Ouch!

If that wasn't bad enough, Beckham has also been panned by comedian Joan Rivers, who branded her "arrogant."

I am guessing then that poor Vic doesn't want to hear what some folks are saying about her latest
Marc Jacobs campaign shots, like the one above. Thumb-sucking anyone?

Cameron Diaz flaunts it all for GQ May '08 issue

Cameron Diaz shows off her bodacious bod in the latest issue of GQ magazine. Posing in a sexy one-piece cut-out swimsuit, the actress reveals in an interview with the men's mag that she's happy being single.

"I love my life, I don't have any shame in being happy," she said.

"You spend so many years in darkness with stuff eating away at you - it's okay to be happy," she added.

Although if the latest reports are correct, the 35-year-old may not be single for much longer. It is rumoured that Diaz is currently dating Scottish actor Gerard Butler after the pair were spotted on several dates around Los Angeles.

The May issue of GQ magazine is out now.

Mel B to replace Sarah Harding as the new face of Ultimo

Spice Girl Mel B is set to become the new face of Ultimo. The 32-year-old will replace Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding in fronting the brand's latest bra campaign. A source told The People: "She has a fantastic figure. She also appeals to men and women on both sides of the Atlantic so it is a clever move by Ultimo." After giving birth last year, Mel B toned up for the Spice Girls reunion tour and to appear on the US version of Dancing With The Stars.

What do you think of Ultimo's choice to pick Mel B? Tell us by leaving your comments below.

Kate Moss Tops Glamour Magazine’s Best-Dressed List

Kate Moss is back at the top of Glamour magazine’s annual best-dressed women list.

“Kate’s back with a vengeance,” Jo Elvin, editor of Glamour, told Reuters. “Her maverick approach to fashion is an inspiration and shows us all how to be a little more daring and experimental.”

The British supermodel bested 2007’s best dressed, Aussie pop star, Kylie Minogue, who took a fashion nose-dive, tumbling all the way down to 19th.

Following Moss in second place, is fellow Brit, Sienna Miller, followed by Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Bilson and Jennifer Aniston, who rounded out the top five coming in third, fourth and fifth places, respectively.

On the worst-dressed side, pop princess, and recent sitcom starlet, Britney Spears took home the not-so-distinguished honors. In a case of fans loving and hating a celeb’s fashion choices, Victoria Beckham was voted ninth worst dressed, but also named tenth best dressed.

Glamour magazine’s top 10 best-dressed:

1 - Kate Moss
2 - Sienna Miller
3 - Scarlett Johansson
4 - Rachel Bilson
5 - Jennifer Aniston
6 - Alexa Chung
7 - Reese Witherspoon
8 - Jessica Alba
9 - Keira Knightley
10 - Victoria Beckham

Eva Herzigova won't pose nude again

In her latest interview with Tatler magazine, Eva Herzigova has got some disappointing news for her males - she won't pose nude ever again.

The former Wonderbra model also admits that she isn't a whizz when it comes to the kitchen. "The last time I cooked was on Christmas Day three years ago," she told the magazine.
Continuing her list of flaws, she confesses that giving advice isn't one of her strong points either. "I'm too pragmatic and everything seems almost mathematical and easy to resolve. I'd prefer to have more of a sense of humour when I give advice."

The May issue of Tatler is out now.

British fashion plates, Thandie Newton and Peaches Geldof, have been spotted on both sides of the pond in recent days wearing black lace. Firstly, Newton was snapped at the New York première of Run, Fat Boy, Run in this mini dress from Temperley London's spring '08 collection. Diamond thong centre of attention at Singapore Fashion Festival

Ouch. The words 'diamond' and 'thong' put together don't really conjure up images of the most comfy undies in the world do they?

But a £60,700 diamond thong became very much the centre of attention at a show during the Singapore Fashion Festival.

The Triumph Luxurious Diamond Thong had 518 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 30 carats, which were studded into a floral pattern on the front of the garment.

Romanian model Danielle Luminita was hoisted onto the shoulders of two male models, who paraded the thong-wearing blonde down the catwalk.

"It is very comfortable, it's not heavy or scratchy or anything," Luminita said backstage.

The thong was commissioned by Triumph International, who said the garment would be drycleaned before being put on display.

Stella McCartney launches first online store

While she continues to develop her business on the ground, Stella McCartney also wants her presence on the web known. The British designer has just launched her first online store, but for us UK fans we'll have to sit tight a little longer, her new e-commerce site is for US customers only. Now available to purchase over the web is her main collection, pieces from her Adidas and Le Sportsac collaborations, as well as her accessories and fragrance lines. Luckily we won't have to wait too much longer, the website is due to launch in the UK this autumn.

Sasha Pivovarova on Vogue China and Vogue Australia - which looks better?

Vogue China recently had Mario Sorrenti photograph Sasha Pivovarova for the cover of their March 2008 issue. Now Vogue Australia have made the most of being in the Conde Nast International family and used the image on their May 2008 issue. While there were no drastic changes, I like the Chinese cover better. The "Spring Colours" cover line brings a nice fresh flavour to a spring cover, while pink isn't exactly a colour that is meant to inspire fashionable women in Australia as they go into Autumn.

Louis Vuitton combats counterfeiters with new Takashi Murakami design

Last night at the preview of Takashi Murakami's new exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum, Louis Vuitton unveiled its new plan to combat counterfeiters. But instead of the usual speech-giving or handing out of leaflets, the French label has chosen an alternative approach to fighting the busy trade of copycat artists. It will set up its own street vendors outside the museum in New York, which will sell, not fake Vuitton bags, but the genuine article.

The vendors will also begin selling Vuitton's latest 'Monogramouflage' print, developed by Murakami and Marc Jacobs. It's a mixture of Murakami's famous monogram print and camouflage, to be sold in special canvases during the course of the exhibition.

"We always thought that counterfeit requires zero tolerance for several reasons," Yves Carcelle, chairman and chief executive officer of Louis Vuitton, told WWD.

The fashion house now employs 40 staff, based in Paris, who work specifically on protecting its trademarks. It's a huge problem for the company who have conducted over 30,000 raids on counterfeiters in the last five years alone.

"The street vendors are not negative in themselves, they are part of the life of the city. When they sell counterfeit goods, however, it's detrimental to the city itself," added Carcelle.

The Murakami exhibition officially opens this Saturday. The Brooklyn Museum will house a special Vuitton boutique stocking LV multicoloured bags, other small leather goods and 300 of the Monogramouflage print canvases priced between US$6,000 and US$10,000.
  • The Monogramouflage collection, including luggage, handbags, costume jewellery and ready-to-wear, will launch worldwide in selected Vuitton stores from 15th June, 2008.

Behind-the-scenes with Madonna on Elle shoot

You have seen her on the cover of Vanity Fair and UK Elle, and now it really does seem like Madonna is on path for world domination. The style icon was photographed by Tom Munro for the May issues of both UK and US Elle, in anticipation of her forthcoming album Hard Candy. I suppose a gal has to make sure that she has both ends covered! Check out the behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot by clicking play on video above.

Agyness Deyn rocks it for Burberry's The Beat - the commercial

We told you last year that model-of-the-moment Agyness Deyn was going to the face of Burberry's newest fragrance, The Beat. Finally the television commercial has hit YouTube for our viewing pleasure. Check out Agyness prancing around and rocking it up for the cameras. See below for a behind the scenes video where you can hear Burberry's Creative Director, Christopher Bailey talk about the fragrance, while the commercial's director, Fabian Baron, talks about the energy of the shoot. As per usual, the behind the scenes insight is way more interesting than the finished result. Well I think so.

The making of Burberry's The Beat commercial:

Michael Kors loves him some American Idol

He isn't ashamed to admit it: Michael Kors loves him some American Idol. So much so, while in LA shooting his new campaign with Mario Testino and models Carmen Kass and Noah Mills, he dropped in to watch a live taping of the show. The Project Runway judge is seen here giving a standing ovation to contestant David Archuleta's rendition of Smokey Mountain Memories.

According to WWD he's a Dolly devotee too, having used Jolene in his spring 2006 runway show. So a Dolly Parton night on American Idol? Surely it couldn't get much better for the designer!

Oh but it does... it's said Idol producers asked Kors to partake in the show by recording a special message for the Idol Gives Back benefit episode, which will air next week in the US.

Make like Kate Moss with a paparazzi playset

If you fancy yourself as a darling of the tabloids, hounded by the paparazzi at every turn, followed out of Starbucks and chased in your car for lucrative pictures but the reality is more mundane then carry out your strange fantasies with a paparazzi playset.

The set is $15.99 from Perpetual Kid and features nine eager paparazzi and a cardboard velvet rope to keep them away. It's a perfect gift for a faa-aahbulous workmate to decorate their cubicle with, I wonder if Kate Moss has a set stalking her kitchen windowsill?

Is there going to be a UK version of The Hills?

Yes there is... Omigod!

According to the MTV casting site, auditions were held yesterday (sorry folks, we're a little slow for once!) to find cast members for the new UK version of The Hills. Keep reading to find out more...

I had to chuckle when I read what they're looking for - someone who has striking looks/personal style, loves being in front of the camera, not a professional actor/presenter, wears their heart on their sleeve, not afraid to show emotion, be passionate about fashion, is seriously interested in writing and lives an aspirational lifestyle.

Well if that doesn't sum up our ed-in-chief Gemma then I don't know what does!

Click here for more details - you never know, they might still be looking for the next Lauren, Heidi and Audrina... Or Kim or Gemma or Isabelle...

Outfit Pick: Urban Outfitters chambray trousers

Chambray is a light summer alternative to jeans and this pair of trousers is really well cut despite the casual style. Teamed with a three tone top and white lace-ups it's a classically smart spring look. A printed bag provides interest and a wooden necklaces echos the earthy tones.
Sling on a simple cropped trench to complete the look. Full product details after the jump.

Renée Zellweger in Carolina Herrera at 'Leatherheads' premiere, Hollywood

Two of Hollywood's favourite stars, Renée Zellweger and George Clooney, took to the red carpet overnight for the world première of their latest flick Leatherheads. Zellweger looked the best that she has in a while in a 1940s style sheer blue dress by Carolina Herrera. A stickler for simple outfits, she kept things fuss-free with nude-coloured heels and a chunky ring on her finger. Both stars appear in the upcoming issue of British Marie Claire, where they discuss their thoughts on marriage and babies, only not together of course. Click here to read more.
The May issue of Marie Claire is out this Thursday.

Madonna dominates cover for Vanity Fair's annual green issue

Madonna has landed the May cover of Vanity Fair which also happens to be the publication's annual green issue. The timing couldn't be more perfect for Madge as she begins the promo circuit for her forthcoming album Hard Candy. And doesn't she look fierce? Her outfit for the mag seems to follow this 'bad ass' image that Madge is also using for her album cover, just at look at those knee-high lace-up boots and black bodysuit. Perhaps she really is preparing for world domination.

Sarah Jessica Parker plays down rumours of a new SATC series

At last night's screening of her new film Smart People, Sarah Jessica Parker quashed recent rumours of another Sex and the City television series in the works.

"As a mother I just can't be away from my son that kind of time...He wants me around and I'm glad because there's going to come a time sooner or later that he doesn't want me around," she said.

SJP along with her co-star Ellen Page, attended the screening hosted by the Cinema Society in New York.

Following on the current leather trousers trend, SJP brightened things up a little with a candy pink cropped jacket and Carrie-esque yellow fan brooch, worn over a navy satin top. A touch of animal print was mixed in to add that necessary clashing element.

Meanwhile, Page kept things demure in a figure-hugging grey column dress and swept up hair. Very elegant indeed!

Kate Hudson goes wild over new eco-friendly haircare range

The campaign shots from Kate Hudson's new natural haircare range have been released and they're pretty spectacular. Shot on location in Africa, the actress was photographed by Peter Lindbergh holding baby lion cubs and sitting next to a cheetah. The range, which is a partnership between Hudson and her hairdresser David Babaii, is also in conjunction with WildAid. Ten per cent of the profits will be donated to WildAid, an animal activist group. In addition to her campaign work, it has also been revealed that Hudson will appear on the cover of W magazine's September issue, which begins shooting this week.

Madonna bags another May cover - this time, UK Elle

The promo trail is really hotting up for Madonna, who now has a string of covers under her belt in the lead-up to the release of her new album.

While it doesn't look like she's changed things up too much for the May issue of UK Elle, it's nice to see she's finally kicked off those (admittedly, fierce) thigh-high lace-up boots we've been seeing her wear in every photo shoot of late, and instead add a cute fedora hat to her ensemble.

The just-shy-of-50 singer, whose album Hard Candy is due for release on April 28, tells Elle there are "no short cuts to being Madonna" and she works blimmin' hard to stay in shape.

"It's all about hard work," she says. "There is no easy way. If you want to know how I look like I do, it's diet and exercise and constantly being careful."

Oh, we believe you Madge (especially if the constant stream of photos showing everybody's favourite Material Girl going to and from the gym are any indication).

Avon calls Patrick Dempsey to front new fragrance campaign

Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey appears to be on a winning ticket at the moment. While his Versace ads begin to circulate (pictured left), he has already signed his next campaign, this time with Avon.

Dempsey, who plays the dishy Dr Shepherd (a.k.a. Dr McDreamy), has agreed to front Avon's newest fragrance for men.

Details, such as how much moolah he will receive from the multi-year contract, are being kept secret, but sources are estimating between $5 million to $6 million per year. Not bad!

Another interesting fact is that Dempsey's wife, make up artist Jillian Dempsey, also happens to be Avon's global creative colour director. And they say that sleeping with the boss gets you nowhere...For more from the lad's side of fashion, check out Brandish.

Daria Werbowy does high summer for H&M

Vogue.co.uk has an exclusive first look at Daria Werbowy's campaign pics for H&M's high summer range.

The new range looks set to feature maxi dresses, kimono-sleeved tops, fringed scarves, swimwear and heavy wooden accessories.

"We wanted to create something very colourful and light, with stand-out print," says H&M's new creative director Ann-Sofie Johansson.

"We were inspired by hot holidays in Africa, India, Hawaii and South America; hence ethnic-style prints such as tropical flowers and leaves, ikat designs, dip-dyes and ombre effects," she added.

Werbowy has been fronting the ad campaigns for H&M since last year, also appearing in television commercials.

Outfit pick: a dichroic look

I've always loved dichroic glass pendants, and when I saw Topshop's Giles-esque skirt, it really reminded me of the patterns you find in the fused glass charms. There was really only one thing for it. Outfit time! The necklace and skirt match perfectly, so I've tried to keep the rest of the outfit simple and a bit retro. Substitute purple tights for the grey if you want to make it a bit bolder!

Daniel Craig tops GQ's best dressed list again

He's suave and debonair as Bond... James Bond. And Daniel Craig is just as suave and debonair in real life too, bagging the title of GQ's Best Dressed Man for the second year running.

Famously knowledgeable when it comes to suiting up (he has a particular penchant for Tom Ford bespoke), Craig managed to impress an international panel of judges, including Giorgio Armani, Naomi Campbell and, wouldn't you know it, Tom Ford.Ford, funnily enough, only came in at number five, while Prime Minister Gordon Brown fell to third... worst-dressed.

The full list is included in the May issue of GQ, available this Thursday.

Coco Ribbon launches first clothing line

Pretty lingerie from Coco Ribbon doesn't have to stop just there... Now London's favourite knickers shop has launched its first clothing range. The line resembles the rest of its lingerie collection - feminine, floaty and totally flattering. Take for instance this stunning silk cocktail dress. Available in a sumptuous raspberry colour, the 'Hollywood' dress (£395) gathers at the bodice and ties at either the front or the back, depending on what you prefer. It's the perfect after-five dress - check out the rest of the range here.

Rimmel isn't axing Kate Moss

It seems that Rimmel is sticking with Kate Moss, despite reports that they were planning to axe her for Alexa Chung. The cosmetics company has issued a statement, denying any plans to end Moss's contract.

"Kate remains the face of Rimmel London and will continue to appear in campaigns for the foreseeable future," said Rimmel spokeswoman Emmanuelle Bonte. "Rimmel London has no plans to replace Kate. We are very happy with the collaboration."

The Mirror reported last Friday that the supermodel would shortly be replaced by TV personality Alexa Chung. According to the article, Chung "wowed bosses in secret screen tests" which were also held for Agyness Deyn, Daisy Lowe and Lily Cole.

Sources revealed that Chung had made it onto shortlist, along with St Trinians star Gemma Arterton.

Despite denying such plans, Rimmel had previously considered terminating Moss's contract in 2005, when she was busted using cocaine.

Interestingly, Rimmel have declined to comment on whether Alexa Chung will soon be joining their camp.

Coleen McLoughlin voted Britain's most influential style icon

Princess of the WAGs (it's fair to assume that Victoria Beckham is the Queen) Coleen McLoughlin has been voted Britain's most influential style icon. The fiancée of Wayne Rooney even beat out Kate Moss and Sienna Miller to win the title, in a survey conducted by Look magazine. Are you surprised?

Carry on reading to see who else made the list...

1,200 British women participated in the survey to name their favourite style icon. Kate Moss came in at second place, ahead of Sienna Miller in third place, with Victoria Beckham following in at fourth place.

"Coleen has transformed herself from Puffa-jacket schoolgirl to style icon in just a few years," said Ali Hall, editor of Look. "Women relate to her as she's more shapely than your average WAG. She doesn't mind splashing out on a designer 'it' item but mixes it with the great stuff available on the high street."

McLoughlin is due to marry her footballer beau on 12th June. Last week, it was revealed that she had a marathon 10-hour dress fitting for her bridal gown, reportedly worth £100k designed by Marchesa.

Look magazine's top 10 style icons:
1. Coleen McLoughlin
2. Kate Moss
3. Sienna Miller
4. Victoria Beckham
5. Cheryl Cole
6. Kylie Minogue
7. Gwen Stefani
8. Keira Knightley
9. Lily Allen
10. Angelina Jolie

Nickelodeon's 2008 Kids' Choice Awards: Miley Cyrus, Cameron Diaz, Ashlee Simpson and America Ferrera

It's Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards for 2008 and many young starlets made an appearance on the orange carpet. Miley Cyrus showed off her style in this black dress embellished with rows of silver beads. She's only 15 but she's sure showing off her stylish choices on and off the red carpet - remember that gorgeous red Valentino gown she wore to the Oscars?

Cameron Diaz looked fresh and cool in her printed mini dress and white bolero. I love that she accessorized with an orange clutch and white sandals, both colours compliment each other and her dress so well, and of course the mini dress shows off her great legs.

Now does anyone else want to reach into the photo and brush the hair out of Ashlee Simpson's face? Wearing a grey strapless dress that was rather shapeless on her slim frame, Simpson tried to create the illusion of hips with a black belt which doesn't seem to sit right at all. But I do love the Chanel cut and bright orange sandals, they just give the outfit a pop of colour missing everywhere else in her look.

America Ferrera chose to dress up a little for her red carpet walk, wearing a sand coloured dress which hugged and flared it all the right placed. Girls if you're looking for ideas for Prom, America's look could be easily copied.

Who's look did you like best?
