Reasons why Charlize Theron is a movie star...

Charlize looks like she was born to wear Versace at the Venice Film Festival. It's a lesson in how to do red carpet glamour. The look is made by the soft hair, diamond bracelets, miniaudiere and intentional lack of any other jewellery. With a dress like this, less is definitely more when it comes to accessories.

The fashion legend that is Valentino Garavani can definitely pull in a crowd. The Venice Film Festival after party for the premiere of the new film 'Valentino: The Last Emperor' pulled in a host of A-list names including Charlize Theron, Elizabeth Hurley, Claire Danes and Diane Kruger. They all looked fabulous (mainly in Valentino, natch) and we've got the pics!

Diamond thong centre of attention at Singapore Fashion Festival

Ouch. The words 'diamond' and 'thong' put together don't really conjure up images of the most comfy undies in the world do they?

But a £60,700 diamond thong became very much the centre of attention at a show during the Singapore Fashion Festival.

The Triumph Luxurious Diamond Thong had 518 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 30 carats, which were studded into a floral pattern on the front of the garment.

Romanian model Danielle Luminita was hoisted onto the shoulders of two male models, who paraded the thong-wearing blonde down the catwalk.

"It is very comfortable, it's not heavy or scratchy or anything," Luminita said backstage.

The thong was commissioned by Triumph International, who said the garment would be drycleaned before being put on display.

Fashion festival's hair apparent

A HAIR tie or two would have made the perfect accessory at the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival Pop Up parade yesterday at QV.

Unfortunately, the models spent the whole parade struggling with masses of hair flinging them in the eyes as the outdoor catwalk was whipped by strong winds.

The gals indoors in the Metalicus showing at 101 Collins St had more luck with their cute, streamlined bobs.
