Stella McCartney interviews Kate Hudson for In Style magazine, Jan '09 issue

Stella McCartney has swapped roles and donned the interviewer's cap for the January '09 issue of U.S. In Style magazine. And the subject? None other than her close pal, Kate Hudson.

The two sat down at London's posh Locanda Locatelli restaurant, for what has been described as Hudson's "most revealing interview yet". They cover everything from her new movie, Bride Wars, to her passion for jewellery, to life as a single gal.

Stella:You're a hot ticket! You've always been in demand.
Kate: I feel good in relationships. I enjoy them, so I feel my best when I'm in something solid. But it's also the first time I've ever taken a step back and gotten a new perspective. So I've made a conscious decision to try and stay single for as long as possible.
Stella: Yeah, babe I know! What's it been - all of two weeks? Congratulations!
Kate: Exactly. I'm just trying to be an adult now.Stella: So I take it you're just watching lots of soft porn?
Kate: What are you talking about? I go right for the hard stuff!

Stella McCartney launches first online store

While she continues to develop her business on the ground, Stella McCartney also wants her presence on the web known. The British designer has just launched her first online store, but for us UK fans we'll have to sit tight a little longer, her new e-commerce site is for US customers only. Now available to purchase over the web is her main collection, pieces from her Adidas and Le Sportsac collaborations, as well as her accessories and fragrance lines. Luckily we won't have to wait too much longer, the website is due to launch in the UK this autumn.

Stella pulls Heather's leg with necklace

HOLLYWOOD is in stitches over a rumour that Sir Paul McCartney's daughter Stella designed a necklace featuring one leg for his ex-wife Heather Mills, whom she famously hates.

According to gossip guru Perez Hilton, Sir Paul’s designer daughter has exacted revenge on the 'evil' Mills by reportedly creating the one-leg necklace.

silver, single-limbed pendant dedicated to Heather Mills was unveiled to a select group of fashion industry players in Paris recently; it’s set to launch in the spring or summer 2008.

“A lot of people thought it was really edgy, while others secretly thought it was out of order,” a source said.

“It’s such an obvious dig. It will cause a stir when it goes on sale.”

Stella, a fashion designer, and her former step-mother have never made any secret about their extreme dislike for one another.

And Mills recently provoked the ire of the public when she rejected a $100m divorce settlement proposal from McCartney before embarrassing herself by going on a tirade on UK television about he way she had been treated in the press.

Paris Fashion Week: Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney always makes beautiful feminine clothing and despite being heavily pregnant (a mere few months away from giving birth) she still presented her collection at Paris Fashion Week. She wasn't short on family support either, which is something I love about the McCartneys. There to support Stella in Paris was her father Sir Paul, her sister Mary and her brother James. She also got celebrity support from Kanye West and Lily Allen. Her latest collection was shown against a botanical backdrop created by French botanist, Patrick Blanc. There was a vintage feel to her collection which incorporated retro floral prints. See after the jump for more images...

A lot of the items reference lingerie reminiscent of McCartney's early collections. There were barely there camisoles and short white delicate dresses with ruffles and embroidery detailing.

The whole collection seemed to have been designed in consideration of her own post baby stomach (well who wouldn't consider their own needs!) with loose fitting material around the midriff. It was a line that could be worn at a seaside resort such as St Tropez. The printed dresses are very wearable and could be worn on their own with sandals or over jeans for cooler days/evenings.

The Spring/Summer line referenced seventies glamour with wide legged trousers, cut out detail and halter neck tops. She included a few tailored items such as safari jackets and blazers. Accessories included beaded sandals and totes which matched the floral print dresses.

Stella McCartney turns her skills to lingerie

She is the woman of the moment right now with her limited edition Glastonbury t-shirts and getting her Adidas range ready for her London Fashion week debut. Nevertheless, Stella McCartney is also in the midst of creating her very first lingerie collection - hurrah!

"This is a natural progression for me," McCartney told WWD. "Lingerie is an obsession of mine. I have been inspired by it for many, many years. Ever since my degree collection at Saint Martins, I have always used it in my work."

The silk, georgette and organic cotton range will launch in spring/summer 2008 under license with lingerie company Bendon, the same company who produces Elle Macpherson's 'Intimate' underwear line. However, knickers from McCartney won't come cheap with prices ranging from £35 to £220.
