Statuesque in fishtail aubergine J. Mendel, Kate Beckinsale looks more and more like her celeb pal Victoria Beckham every day. While I'm glad she's ditched the massive hollywood waves and unnecessary highlights, the sleek hair's doing nothing for me, even though it shows off the jewels. I want to shake her and tell her to loosen up just a little bit!

Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista tussle for DSquared S/S '09 campaign
Madonna for Louis Vuitton spring/summer '09 campaign
"I just blurted out, 'I think we should do Madonna,"' he said, adding that he'd attended her Paris concert the night before. "I was totally just blown away by it, and moved by her performance, by what she had to say, and her energy."
And who wouldn't? The outcome is six French-inspired, sepia-toned photographs by Steven Meisel, which were taken of the Queen of Pop inside L.A.'s trendy Café Figaro. Antoine Arnault, Vuitton's director of communications, denied rumours that Madge pocketed a whopping $10 million for the gig.
"It's very far away from that," he admitted.
If, like me, you're wondering what the turn-around was on these photos, then it look less than a day for shooting to wrap, with the pictures taken just last week. Speedy.
"It was her idea to do the fishnets," Jacobs revealed. The campaign looks set to drop in February, in tandem with LV's "core values" campaign, which currently stars Sean Connery. I sure do look forward to those Miu Miu shots of Katie Holmes now.

Cosgrave is investigating why London has become the centre of the fashion world, something which you could undoubtedly dispute but with people like Mandi Lennard, Todd Lynn and Agyness Deyn giving their tuppence worth it's a must-hear programme. It's worth it just to hear Phillip Green's uber-cockney voice bemoaning designers saying: "you can't get these people to sit still for five minutes... Most of them are out with the fairies." Ha!The next and last episode is scheduled for tonight at 11.30, or catch it again on iPlayer.

Star style: Chloe Sevigny in new season Louis Vuitton on NYE
Okay, the outfit is six days old... but since it's also wonderfully ahead of time too, I couldn't resist featuring it here so you can appreciate the pop of pumpkin orange, the fabbo shoes and the sheer floaty fabrics we will all be hoping to get our hands on in a few months' time.

George Michael's 'Freedom! '90' video starring "The Trinity" of supermodels
Gemma's post about where Beyonce's new Thierry Mugler inspiration comes from - George Michael's 'Too Funky' video - got me thinking about his other supermodel-packed video for his track, 'Freedom! '90'. The iconic clip features "The Trinity" of supermodels including Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford. Michael decided not to take part in the 1990 video, allowing the models which also included Tatjana Patitz to mouth the words instead. So click play on the video above and turn it up!
Katherine Jenkins opens Harrods sale amid boos from anti-fur campaigners
She was presented with a pair of diamond-encrusted Christian Louboutins by Harrods owner Mohamed Al-Fayed for her troubles (lucky girl!) and said of the protests happening outside: "Personally I do not eat meat or wear fur, but people are entitled to their opinions. I was very excited to join the sales - I am a girl's girl, so obviously this is my idea of fun." What do you think of her decision?
Things we want to see more of in 2009: Shingai Shoniwa of the Noisettes
We're big fans of Shingai Shoniwa on CQ, and we've featured her great style a couple of times of the site so it's great to hear that her band are bringing new material out. The Noisettes' latest single is called Wild Young Hearts and it's a heart-burstingly wonderful piece of romantic pop, it kind of reminds me of Kylie's Tears on my Pillow which is a good thing! Watch the video above, and hopefully we'll be seeing a lot more of Shingai in 2009.
Details of Agent Provocateur's next two campaigns revealed
"Again, with Pan we were looking at various ideas. Pan is a very pagan motif and it's all about rites of spring, and it fitted very well with our spring collection. There's a certain wildness about it, like Pirates. But it's light, angelic and mythical with a certain softness and conveys the pleasures of the pagan ritual," said Corre.
"Pirates is very popular with us because they are outlaws and in a way, Agent Provocateur is a brand which was started independently and carved its own path through the fashion industry," he said. "In a sense, it doesn't necessarily obey the rules of retail marketing and appeals to the inner outlaw of people. It looks like such a romp."
A romp is certainly right. Take for example the above picture. The brand is also on the verge of launching more boutiques and two in-store shops in the U.S. at Bloomingdales.
"When we started the Agent Provocateur brand in 1994 in the U.K., there was a strong recession," he said. "It's not like we're going off like gang busters, opening up stores all over the place. Stores take 18 months to three years to really establish themselves. That's across the board in retail. We like to establish a business with customers who make a purposeful trip to our stores."
The fourth installment in the campaign series is titled "Picnic Debauch". It is slated for late spring 2009.

Which model did you love in 2008? (We heart Coco!)
We don't usually like picking favourites, but when it came to models in 2008, it's hard to look past the fun-loving Canadian chameleon Coco Rocha. Since she Irish jig-ged her way onto the fashion scene last year, our love for her here at Catwalk Queen has only grown as she kept it real throughout the year with behind-the-scenes vids on Style.com and dyed her hair a vivid shade of red.
But we're not the types to kick up a stink if you don't agree with us... so we want to know, who would be your model of 2008? Agy? Jourdan Dunn? Daisy Lowe? Leave us a comment below and let us know!

Star style: Most Improved - Lauren 'Lo' Bosworth
However, we spotted Lauren Conrad's sidekick on The Hills in this tidy ensemble leaving the studios of the CW11 Morning Show in New York this morning and we have to say she looks very smart and not to mention toasty warm in this lovely outfit. The wide legged trousers are much better suited to her figure than the bunched satin skinnies she was wearing last time and we love the grey coat too. Tres chic Lo!
Nighties with sleeves. They *do* exist!
This is the perfect compromise. It's cute without being naff, has a warm jersey long-sleeved top, but a skirted bottom. All this, and it's only a fiver in the sale. You'll thank me during our freezing February!
Matthew Williamson for less at Yoox.com
Not only do Yoox.com have a really good stock of cut-price Matthew Williamson, they have it in my size. There are loads of pieces on offer, most in larger sizes (when I say 'larger' I mean 12 - 16). Of course, it's all still £300+, but this is the only time of year most of us can dream of that kind of indulgence.
So Santa, if you're listening, this rather lovely one shoulder dress would be fab!
