New Sex and the City movie promo pics revealed!

They might be squabbling over
who is going to wear what to the première, but the ladies over at Sex and the City certainly look like they're getting along in their new promo pictures. Dressed to kill and having a blast, the fab four have been criticised in these latest photos for appearing too airbrushed.

What do you think of the new SATC promo pics? Are they too airbrushed? Tell us by leaving your comments below.

Sarah Jessica Parker plays down rumours of a new SATC series

At last night's screening of her new film Smart People, Sarah Jessica Parker quashed recent rumours of another Sex and the City television series in the works.

"As a mother I just can't be away from my son that kind of time...He wants me around and I'm glad because there's going to come a time sooner or later that he doesn't want me around," she said.

SJP along with her co-star Ellen Page, attended the screening hosted by the Cinema Society in New York.

Following on the current leather trousers trend, SJP brightened things up a little with a candy pink cropped jacket and Carrie-esque yellow fan brooch, worn over a navy satin top. A touch of animal print was mixed in to add that necessary clashing element.

Meanwhile, Page kept things demure in a figure-hugging grey column dress and swept up hair. Very elegant indeed!

Parker Chose To Make Clothing Affordable

Sarah Jessica Parker chose to launch her clothing line with US discount store Steve & Barry’s - because she wanted to make her fashion affordable.

Although Parker, who previously modelled for Gap, was inundated with offers to design clothes for exclusive labels, but she wanted to ensure her fashion line wasn’t just going to be overpriced.

“Because of the close proximity I had with great designers during Sex And The City, I understood what it took to be a real designer… I don’t have the necessary skills. Give the money to Narciso Rodriguez or someone,” she reveals of her Bitten range.

Parker is promoting the range which comes in both large and small sizes with a t-shirt that states “Fashion Is Not A Luxury”.

And - having grown up with eight siblings all forced to wear hand-me-downs - she wanted everyone to be able to afford her clothes.

Parker added: “It was a very different idea - the concept that quality shouldn’t be a privilege and fashion shouldn’t be a luxury.”

Girls Just Wanna Have Fashion: Sarah Jessica Parker launches clothing line

Along with Samantha, Charlotte, Miranda and of course Carrie, there was an ever-present fifth character from the popular HBO comedy Sex and the City, and I'm not talking about Mr. Big. Carrie Bradshaw's wardrobe -- from season one's "naked dress" to the short formal/long faux-fur coat combo in the season finale -- was always a topic of discussion and debate (along with the characters' many conquests.)

Sarah Jessica Parker, the woman who breathed life into our favorite New York City singleton, has launched her own clothing line, Bitten, which promises to deliver fashionable choices at a very modest price. The name comes from the concept of being "bitten" by the theater bug. With this new business venture, the petite actress (and Mrs. Matthew Broderick) joins the ranks of other multi-hyphenates that have entered the fashion world, including Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, and the Olsen twins.

Unlike other celebrity-branded clothing lines, however, Parker's designs come with more reasonable price tags. In fact, none of the 500 pieces in the Bitten collection costs more than $19.98. The line, which can outfit one's entire wardrobe, from suit separates to lingerie to swimwear, is available exclusively at the privately held Steve & Barry's chain, which operates 200 stores in 33 states.

Don't expect to see many of the wild fashion choices that made Carrie such a whimsical gal. Bitten largely focuses on the basic staples, including simple slacks and sweaters, jeans, and T-shirts.

Sex and the City star sparks fashion frenzy

She won fans and became a fashion icon with her tales of single life in Sex and the City, and Sarah Jessica Parker sparked a shopping frenzy when she unveiled her own clothing collection.

Hundreds of women queued in a New York mall to see Parker launch her Bitten label, based on her belief that it's "every woman's inalienable right to have a pulled-together, stylish, confident wardrobe with money left over to live."

But while Parker's character Carrie preferred high-end designer clothes – from Ralph Lauren, Dolce and Gabbana and Escada to Manolo Blahnik shoes – the actress' fashion line she designed herself is considerably more affordable with $US20 dresses and $US10 tops.

"We love her," said Kris Young, 34, a make-up artist who got up at 3am with three friends to drive to Manhattan from Columbia, Maryland, and queued several hours to see Parker.

"I think it's a great idea that she made it so affordable and the sizes are so broad," she said.

"This is more real-life, everyday and everyone can have a piece of it."

Parker's fashion collection is being stocked by retail chain Steve & Barry's and the company's Manhattan Mall store was mobbed by hundreds of mainly female shoppers, with many leaving laden down with bags of clothes.

"We came to see Sarah Jessica Parker today because we're big Sex and the City fans and we think she has a great sense of fashion," said Lucille Barresi, 49, a fashion teacher from Livingston, New Jersey.

The launch of a clothing line by Parker – whose motto is "fashion is not a luxury, it's a right" – follows a trend of retailers hiring celebrities to help win an increasingly competitive battle for fashion-savvy mid-market shoppers.

Singers Madonna and Kylie Minogue have designed clothes for Swedish chain H&M, model Kate Moss put together a collection for Top Shop, singer Lily Allen struck a deal with New Look and high-end designers Stella McCartney and Josh Goot designed ranges for Target Australia.
