Harper's Bazaar February 2008: Jennifer Lopez

#3 in the Pregnant Celebrity Magazine Covers series (see Lily Allen, Jessica Alba). Did all the mags get together and decide to feature expectant moms this month? Or is it just that everyone in Hollywood is pregnant these days?
Here's Jennifer Lopez on the cover of the February issue of Harper's Bazaar.
This is a pretty standard J. Lo cover; wavy hair, smokey eyes, defined cheekbones, tanned skin, and nude lips. It's pretty, but not really special. Definitely looks like Spring though. What do you think of this cover look?Rumor has it that she's having twins. I just hope they don't look like Marc!

Frock Horror(s) of the Week: Jennifer Lopez's En Concierto outfits

I think Jennifer Lopez has some 'splaining to do! If anyone was in doubt that the saucy singer was pregnant then this may well confirm it, I mean what other excuse does she have for this parade of atrocious maternitywear?

The Latin diva performed at a concert over the weekend with hubby Marc Anthony in not one... not two... but three gaudy outfits, perhaps with the exception of the yellow tent dress (above, right). I must blame Roberto Cavalli, yet again!

Post a comment below and let us know what you think about this week's multiple Frock Horrors.

Jennifer Lopez' on-set photos for her latest music video, Do It Well

Yikes! Check out the on-set photos from Jennifer Lopez' latest music video, Do It Well! I'm Not Obsessed has it exactly right - Jenny On The Block looks fierce! Erm, well, yes, she does look a little scary (if looks could kill!) since that eyeliner gives her cheekbones killer definition and an extremely exotic yet terrifying look to her face.

However, I give her huge kudos for the fab fringe skirt worn waist-high with a square-buckle patent belt. (And look! She's got black nails - I haven't seen that for at least a few months!)

Anyone remember that cardinal rule - either show lots on top, or lots on the bottom? Jlo keeps the balance perfectly in mind, and therefore keeps it modest on top with that basic crew-neck tank top since its a totally different story on the bottom - she's showing miles and miles of those fabulous legs.

I'm sure the video will showcase her vivacious dancing ability, and we'll see even more of her toned thighs. Can't wait!

Fashion Rocks With Piven and Lopez

To judge New York Fashion Week by the lineup at Thursday night's Fashion Rocks concert, you'd think the mismatched look was in.

Fergie sang with Aerosmith, Teri Hatcher shared the stage with 50 Cent to introduce Jennifer Lopez, and Jeremy Piven served as host to a crowd of style insiders. From the start, Piven wondered aloud why he was there — were possible emcees Tom Ford, Kanye West or Heidi Klum all unavailable?

Yes, Piven answered, and that left him to do the job. He was more than serviceable.

He warmed up the crowd at Radio City Musical Hall with photos of the "trendsetting" fashions of his youth. The oversize T-shirts that now dominate designer runways — check. Feathered hair later worn by Kristy McNichol and more recently by the heartthrobs on the "O.C." — check.

Same goes for Jean Paul Gaultier's crazy hats and shawls. Piven compared them to the outfit he wore to his bar mitzvah.

He did better for Fashion Rocks in a slightly shiny dark suit. But some of the other celebrities onstage more closely hit the fashion mark: Martina McBride wore a pantsuit and bow blouse in line with the fall's polished look, and Cuba Gooding Jr., with a bright yellow shirt, must have had an early line on the spring clothes being previewed on the catwalks through Wednesday.

Steven Tyler wore a medley of animal prints, Jessica Alba had on a black gown with chain link detail and Tyra Banks wore on-trend booties with her black cocktail dress. Lopez started her performance in a short, sequined trenchcoat but eventually pulled it off to reveal a short, sequined baby-doll dress. She kept her knee-high boots on the whole time.

The concert will be telecast Friday in a two-hour special on CBS.

Has Jenny from the Block gone too demure?

Jenny from the Block looks rather demure, doesn't she? I think Jennifer Lopez makes excellent fashion choices, but these dresses - and her love affair with Marchesa - just seem to strip her of her edge. Do you think she looks lovely, and glam? Or do you think she's lost her street cred and looks too "wifey"?

Is Jennifer Lopez the healthiest role model around?

Yesterday, Kim wrote about Beth Ditto's not happening collaboration with New Look (click here to take a peek). Most of you weren't keen on the idea, saying that her style isn't accessible enough for the larger lady, and that just as anorexia shouldn't be promoted in the fashion world, neither should obesity. One woman who could never be accused of either, is the gorgeous Jennifer Lopez. Admittedly I'm not always a fan of her style choices, but I think she's incredibly healthy looking - not only in terms of her curvaceous looks but also the way that she embraces what others see as flaws (i.e. having a big bottom) and makes them work. The picture above left is her at the premiere of El Cantante in which she and hubby Marc Anthony star. I'm not a huge fan of the dress there although it's clear why she chose it, but she looked cute as a button when she arrived in Puerto Rico earlier this week in an adorable white bubble dress.

What do you think of her look and body shape? If you aren't keen, who do you think is the celebrity who currently best promotes living looking healthy - but doesn't take it to extremes

A Good InVESTment

Supermodel Kate Moss is infamous for creating trends. Vests used to be reserved for tuxes or for accountants who paired them with a sweater—until Moss started sporting them.
Whether you’re a vest person or not, the trend is back and it’s already in some of Hollywood’s hottest closets.
Latin diva Jennifer Lopez is a repeat vest offender along with Mischa Barton and Victoria Beckham. So dig up that old vest you’ve been hiding in your closet, or go out and get yourself one asap because it’s still going to be a hot commodity for the Fall. Now that’s one good investment if you ask us.

First Look: Costume Institute Gala featuring Paul Poiret

This year's annual Costume Institute gala of the Metropolitan Museum of Art was centered on Paul Poiret an early twentieth century French designer and hosted by Vogue's Anna Wintour, Balenciaga's Nicolas Ghesquière, and Cate Blanchett.

The star studded social event, that mixed the biggest names in Hollywood and fashion, was hosted by Vogue's Anna Wintour, Balenciaga's Nicolas Ghesquière, and Cate Blanchett, greeted guests at the end of the red carpet.

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson sang three songs. She ended up with "I Am Changing" but the standing ovation that followed at one stage appeared would not end.

Hudson responded with an encore of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" from Dreamgirls.
We bring you a first look here. Our indepth Fashion Frisks will follow.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the world's largest and most important art museums, located on the eastern edge of Central Park in Manhattan, New York, United States.

Its Costume Institute contains more than 80,000 costumes and accessories. Due to the fragile nature of the items in the collection, the Costume Institute does not maintain a permanent installation.

Instead, every year it holds two separate shows in the Met's galleries using costumes from its collection, with each show centering on a specific designer or theme.

Jennifer Lopez is Victoria Beckham's fashion guinea pig!

Latino diva Jennifer Lopez has agreed to become Posh’s new fashion guinea pig and try out her exclusive range of jeans.

Desperate to ensure that Victoria Beckham's new range of dVb denims flatter her generous curves, JLO has decided to help out.

"Jennifer's as fashion-obsessed as Posh and they've had several girlie chats about Victoria's new range. Jen thinks Posh is incredibly stylish and has asked for some tips, but they've got different body shapes and she was concerned that things that look amazing on Posh wouldn't suit her at all,” a source was quoted by the Mirror, as saying

"When they met up over Oscars weekend, she said to Victoria: 'Your new jeans sound fantastic but will they look good on someone with more hunk in their trunk?' It was then that she offered to try out the clothes to see how well they fitted," he added.

The source goes on: "Jennifer's wearing the jeans every day, making notes and asking her husband Marc Anthony for his opinion of how they look.

She's calling Posh daily to tell her what she thinks. She loves the quality and is chuffed that Victoria takes her input so seriously."

"I wanted to develop a collection with all the qualities I look for in a fantastic pair of jeans," Posh added.
