Naomi and Elle still on enviably fabulous form after years in fashion

While most women of a certain age have to contend with the odd bit of cellulite, the normal rules clearly don't apply to supermodels. Naomi Campbell and fellow fashion queen Elle Macpherson both looked as though they'd found a way to cheat time this week as they flaunted fabulously toned physiques on opposites sides of the globe.

Wearing an itsy bitsy, fire-engine red bikini on a break in South America, the British cover girl – who turns 38 in May - would have been the envy of girls half her age.

Even without the help of a team of stylists Naomi looked naturally glamorous, with her long locks flowing about her shoulders and showing off a trim tum and honed abs.

Over in Sydney Elle was also going for the natural beach babe look. And the mother of two revealed she's in equally enviable form at 44 as she donned a daringly youthful combination of cowboy hat and nude-coloured bikini for an advertising shoot on the Aussie shoreline.

Brazilian cover girl Gisele works rock chick chic on Rio runway

Brazil's home-grown catwalk queen Gisele Bundchen was back on home turf this week to strut her stuff during Rio De Janiero fashion week. The 27-year-old beauty sashayed down the runway in three eye-catching outfits by local fashion label Cocci.

And there was rapturous applause as she opened the presentation of the fashion house's rock chick collection for autumn/winter 2008 wearing a biker jacket, garnet-hued jeans and lace-up boots. A quick change and she reappeared in a billowing puffball dress teamed with knee-length tartan boots. Her final outfit was a Vegas goddess-inspired golden lame affair.

Gisele, who was the top earning model of last year, hit headlines in 2007 with reports she only accepted payment in euros. In Brazil this week, however, the statuesque blonde put the record straight. "The euro story is a lie," she said. "I work with many international companies - I earn salaries in different currencies."

Allegra and Daniel Versace join R&B stars front row at Milan shows

The fashion set flocked to Milan at the weekend to check out the menswear we'll be seeing this autumn and winter. And looking on as Donatella Versace brought back the double-breasted jacket and low-waisted trousers in a collection dominated by navy, burgundy and brown were her children Allegra, 21 and 18-year-old Daniel.

The siblings joined R&B stars Jay Z, Kelly Rowland and Beyonce - the face of Armani's Diamonds fragrance – in the front row at the presentation. Next stop for the music trio was the alpine-inspired Emporio Armani show, which featured monochrome ski wear embellished with a flurry of snow-like sparkles and Scandinavian-style sweaters.

At Alexander McQueen enormous fluffy sheepskins, Russian-style fur stoles and over-size jerseys were teamed with boho headscarfs to ensure the McQueen man stays toasty even in the most Arctic conditions.

Also presenting her vision of next winter at the shows, which were packed into four days to fit around Paris menswear and couture, was Vivienne Westwood. The flame-haired designer delivered sports chic interpreted through baggy patterned trousers and t-shirts in bold hues of purple, aqua marine and orange.

Katie's chic makeover is complete as she promotes latest film

Motherhood and marriage, not to mention a friendship with the fashion-forward Victoria Beckham, seem to have helped Katie Holmes blossom into one of Hollywood's most poised and polished leading ladies. The transformation from slightly nervous and awkward young woman to sophisticated style icon looked to be complete as the 29-year-old arrived to film The Late Show With David Letterman recently.

Posing outside the recording studio with her chic bob groomed to perfection and exuding confidence in a short red coat that showed off her leggy assets, the Mad Money star proved she's come a long way over the last couple of years. It was a strikingly different picture in June 2005, just a couple of months into her relationship with Tom Cruise, when she appeared to want to blend into the background as she arrived at the French premiere of War Of The Worlds.

These days the red carpet pro is perfectly at home talking to reporters and being snapped in haute couture outfits for glossy fashion spreads. While Tom can perhaps be credited for giving Katie confidence, it's close pal Victoria who introduced her to the fashion set, taking her along to international runway shows and perhaps inspiring her bob cut with her own famous crop.

David Beckham and Snoop Dogg talk shop with plans for footwear range

Should David Beckham and rapper Snoop Dogg ever decide they've had enough of their respective professions they'll have plenty of other options to fall back on. The forward-planning pals are discussing an unlikely alternative earner - their own range of bedroom slippers.

"We are talking about making a slipper together," revealed the US rap star. "So when I stop rapping and he stops playing soccer we can kick back and slip on a house shoe."

Their mutual appreciation for the comfy footwear was established after the soccer ace made a guest appearance on Snoop's US reality show Father Hood. "I got David a pair of slippers as a present," says the Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss star. "He took a picture of himself wearing them and sent it to me. I said, 'They look cool!'."

It seems the pair would more than jump at the chance to work with each other again, too. "I’ve been a big hip hop fan for many years," enthuses David. "To be asked to do something with Snoop was incredible." And Snoop - whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr - is equally as quick to praise his British pal. "David and I go back years," he says. "He's terrific with my kids and taught them how to shoot and score the perfect goal."

David's wife apparently took more convincing, however. Snoop has revealed that at first Victoria wasn't impressed by her husband's new choice of pal. "She didn't like me much," he admits. "She didn't like my bad boy persona." In the end though, the rapper won her over. "She's seen my show," he continued. "I'm cool with her now she knows I'm family orientated - that I have a structure and a wife."

Stars back on the gala circuit to see hunky George scoop award

With this year's Golden Globes ceremony cancelled due to industrial action, the stars finally had a red carpet event they could attend this week in the National Board Of Review Of Motion Pictures gala.
As the awards weren't televised there were no picketing writers, and flashbulbs were popping once more as George Clooney and his gorgeous girlfriend Sarah Larson arrived at New York eatery Cipriani to see the hunky star named best actor for his role in Michael Clayton.

The 46-year-old, who lost out to Daniel Day-Lewis last Sunday at the Globes, is rarely seen without Sarah – a former cocktail waitress - on his arm these days. The duo, who have known each other for years but only became romantically involved last June, were joined at the ceremony by other hot Hollywood couple Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas – winner of the career achievement gong.

It was a winning night too for Julie Christie. The screen legend's Oscar chances were given a boost as she added to her Golden Globe by scooping another best actress trophy for her portrayal of an Alzheimer's patient in Away From Her.

The evening also feted the talents of two sets of Hollywood siblings. The Coen brothers had double reason to celebrate after taking home the best film and best adapted screenplay titles for their movie No Country For Old Men, while Ben and Casey Affleck scooped best director and best supporting actor awards respectively.

Newcomers Emile Hirsch and Ellen Page won breakthrough performance awards for their roles in Into The Wild and Juno, while Ratatouille was named best animated feature, with The Diving Bell And The Butterfly taking best foreign film.

Posh and co Spice up fashion pal Roberto Cavalli's Milan show

Though they're right in the middle of the London leg of their sell-out world tour the Spice Girls managed to squeeze in a very special appointment this week. Posh, Sporty, Scary, Baby, and Ginger jetted to Milan to attend the menswear presentation of Roberto Cavalli, the Italian fashion maestro who designed the glittering stage costumes for their shows.

Dressed in red carpet-worthy outfits, the girls were full of praise for their style-icon pal as they joined him on stage. "His clothes make you feel sexy," said Geri Halliwell, whose ivory satin dress stood out against the midnight black ensembles chosen by her bandmates.

The five-piece also voiced their appreciation of Italian men, pegging them as "very passionate" and "more stylish" than their British counterparts. "Italians are stallions," quipped Leeds-born Mel B, quickly adding: "Or so I've heard!".
