Celia Birtwell to create swimwear line for Marie Curie Cancer Care

A swimathon may seem like a word you haven't heard or used since you were in school but it might be something you want to get involved in for 2008. This year, the event is raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and they have called upon the help of amazing textiles designer Celia Birtwell to create some chic swimwear.

Birtwell, who is most famous for her work with legendary '60s/'70s designer Ossie Clark, is to create a 30-piece collection of swimwear in support of the event. We can't wait to see what she designs. This year's Swimathon is fronted by Hollyoaks star Roxanne McKee (pictured). It will run from 17 - 20 April 2008, at 500 pools across the UK.

Model Angela Chittenden presented her Beach Bunny Swimwear show during the Mercedes-Benz LA Fashion Week Spring 2008 at Smashbox Studios, Culver City, CA, Wednesday, 14 October 2007.

With its unique concept of lingerie inspired designs, Beach Bunny Swimwear has graced the pages of Sports Illustrated, USA Today, US Weekly, Ocean Drive, Fitness RX, California Apparel News, Men's Edge, Essence, Stuff, FHM, Orange Coast, Riviera and Best Body.

Sports Illustrated asked Beach Bunny Swimwear to design a special suit for Heidi Klum just for their 2006 Swim issue.

Celebrity fans of the fun and flirty Beach Bunny Swimwear include Eva Longoria, Jessica Alba, Salma Hayek, Sienna Miller, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Brittany Murphy, Leann Rimes and Paris Hilton.

The new 2007 collection of Beach Bunny Swimwear uses luxury fabric and exquisite details from across the world such as Swarovski crystals AB, Mother of Pearl, Italian and French lace trim, translucent beads, sequin and organza trim, and grossgrain ribbon.

Another addition to the new collection includes some of the tops with an under wire with new custom molded air pocket technology to create an unbelievable push-up effect. Staying true to its sexy form, all bottoms are low in front and Brazilian cut in back.

Chittenden presented her Beach Bunny Swimwear show on Day 4 of the Mercedes-Benz LA Fashion Week Spring 2008 at Smashbox Studios, Culver City, CA, Wednesday, 17 October 2007.

The audience included Jimmy Jean-Louis, Lauren Storm and Lauren Conrad among others.

Jessica Simpson To Launch Swimwear Line

Jessica Simpson is launching a new bikini line that she will debut next month during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Miami Beach, Florida. Is there anything Jessica hasn’t done yet? And they say she’s a ‘blonde.’

Her swimwear line will feature skimpy sexy designs and modest one-piece suits as well. Simpson helped design each and every one of the swimsuits and is also going to be personally selecting the models that will walk the runway during the fashion show.

This swimwear line is just one of the many ventures that Simpson is involved in. She already has a skincare empire, hair extensions line and a shoe and clothing line. Now that’s an entrepreneur if you ask me!
