Victoria Beckham lands guest judge role on Project Runway

From Graduate Fashion Week to Project Runway, it seems that Victoria Beckham's fashion judging credentials are expanding. Last week, the Spice girl was snapped alongside Michael Kors and Heidi Klum as a guest judge on the US reality show Project Runway (similar to our own Project Catwalk). Fashion journalist Nina Garcia completed the judging panel on the show's final catwalk episode. Discussing the contestants, Posh said: "There is one designer which every single piece I saw come out on this runway is something I would wear myself." New York Fashion Week Runway Report: Vera Wang

I'm beginning to wonder if I'm being too picky with the shows this year. As another collection of shapeless satin and weirdly draped dark colours hits the wires, I'm thinking perhaps I'm missing something? Vera Wang can usually be relied on to show at least a few showstopping evening gowns, but even they were subtle, understated and surprisingly sack-like this season...

Maybe it's the sylph-like models, who do nothing for the belted creations that formed one half of this show. Wang designs for rich women with a classic style and a lot of cash to splash. Perhaps they'll fill out her draped creations a little better. There are some great details; the oversized jewel neck-pieces, the petrol blue drop-waist dress (coming to a Nicole Richie near you soon) and the dramatic gunmetal silver dress with a draped sleeve.

Flashes of bright Yves Klein blue stopped the palette looking too drab, but there was nothing that really wowed me. What about you guys? What do you think of this subtle collection?

Runway to Red Carpet: Eva Longoria in Monique Lhuillier at 'El Cantante' premiere, LA

Those bib-style dresses are certainly making a splash right now and here is one star who is definitely wearing the trend well. Eva Longoria attended the El Cantante premiere in LA overnight wearing this gorgeous grey bib-style frock by Monique Lhuillier, which featured in her autumn/winter 2007 collection. Longoria keeps the embellished waist belt (another hot trend) and adds a matching clutch and detailed heels for effect. But it was her hunk of diamond wedding ring, which stuck out like a sore thumb, that had everyone talking - bling-o-rama!
