Marc Jacobs exposes the latest 'It' bag (and mega tan lines) in nude 'Harper's Bazaar' shoot

You might still be reeling from the visual of a nude Karl Lagerfeld (even if it was just an illustration), but at least you will hopefully be a bit more prepared for the sight of Mr Marc Jacobs casually sprawled on a pink furry throw exposing more than just the newest 'It' bag - check out them tan lines!

The photo spread is set to appear in the January issue of Harper's Bazaar, to coincide with the release of the revisited Stephen Sprouse graffiti designs for Louis Vuitton. You can read more about the limited edition collection over at our accessories sister site The Bag Lady.

Victoria Beckham for Marc Jacobs spring 2008

Some more, previously unseen, images from
Victoria Beckham's spring '08 campaign for Marc Jacobs have been revealed. I must say I'm rather relieved to see the Spice Girl showing off more than just a pair of legs sticking out of a carrier bag.

In these images, Beckham has crawled out of the Marc Jacobs bag and is dressed as a MJ keyring doll or angel, depending on how you view the ads. Once again it's poking fun at the notion of celebrity and which better celebrity to use than Posh Spice?

What do you think of these latest ad pics?

Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton reveals pre-fall '08 collection

Marc Jacobs has just revealed his pre-fall '08 collection for Louis Vuitton and he's decided to return to the classics. Jacobs has taken the early styles from Louis Vuitton and reworked them slightly in a modern way by adding layers and an array of bright colours. WWD describes it accurately as, "Conservative yet quirky".

This collection sees Jacobs returning to the fashion spotlight following the controversy that surrounded his shows last season. It's great to see a return to ladylike elegance which has undoubtedly been influenced by exhibitions on Paul Poiret at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Golden Age of Couture at the V&A.

Marc Jacobs is staying put at New York Fashion Week

Following the fall-out over his spring/summer '08 show (i.e. that 2-hour wait, that disagreement with Suzy Menkes, etc) Marc Jacobs hinted in the press that he was considering moving his show from New York to Paris or even London (woot!) Unfortunately for us, this is not to be.

Marc Jacobs will be staying put in New York for next season, although with a new time slot. His new show time will commence at 7pm (instead of 9pm... or 11pm rather) on Friday 8th February at the New York State Armory on Lexington Avenue.

Jacobs' business partner Robert Duffy, confirmed the shift in time slot telling WWD that he could not "guarantee that Marc won't be late".

However, he hoped that the earlier time would make it less inconvenient to audiences. "One thing I do know is that he will try to have the best show he can, and [to do that] he will want to finish every piece and make each one as beautiful as possible. If it comes late, it comes late.
This way, even if he's two hours late, people can still go to dinner at 9 or 9:30," he added.

Let's hope this new time better suits Ms Menkes...
