A black and white affair at Chanel Fine Jewelry 'Night of Diamonds'

Whenever Chanel holds an event, they make sure most (if not all) the stars on the red carpet are wearing Chanel. So it came as no surprise that on Wednesday night at Chanel's 'Night of Diamonds' dinner at The Plaza Hotel for the Chanel Fine Jewelry collection, the black and white red carpet outfits were mostly Chanel. It's a good marketing ploy, and it makes my job a little easier – instead of running through the imaginary slide show of runway images in my head, I can just say 'yes, doesn’t Blake Lively look fabulous in Chanel?’ And doesn’t she just? The high collar does look slightly odd on one so young, but the ruffles and embellishment on the skirt is just amazing.

Erin Wasson wears a white Chanel dress first seen last year on Keira Knightley, but Wasson accessorises it with lots of bangles and a feathered hair piece which gives the outfit her own touch. Selma Blair looks very glamorous in her Chanel dress as Andrea pointed out over at ShinyStyle. While Ellen Pompeo reminds me of Coco Chanel herself in her 1920s inspired outfit – I’m not sure about the driving gloves though....

The embellished dresses really had a decent showing on the red carpet with Estee Lauder face, Liya Kabede, wearing a beautiful sequined cocktail dress and toting a quilted Chanel bag. Margherita Missoni wore a white dress with a large ruffled collar and eyelet detail at the neckline. The tiered look distracted us a little from the collar, but my favourite thing about her outfit were her shoes.

Julia Stiles opted for a simple black satin dress with a high neck, offsetting the dark look with red snake skin heels. Hana Soukupova wore a gorgeous halter neck, embellished at the neckline which flowed out into a semi sheer handkerchief hem dress.

Stockings are in? Beyonce hosts launch of Emporio Armani Diamonds fragrance at the NYC Macys

We reported Beyonce's newest endeavor, campaigning for Emporio Armani's 'Diamonds' fragrance, with the launch of her feisty 'Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend' TV spot, this week. She hosted the launch of the release, on the floor of NYC Macy's. She was quite classy - perfect hair (extensions?), a gorgeous Armani knee-length dress in teal, strappy peep toe heels (Jimmy Choo?). But what was up with the stockings? I sort of get the look if she's trying to go for a very conservative classy, but the knee-length of the dress was already plenty conservative. Thoughts? (Oh, but I have no ill word to say against the new print ad launched this week! Picture perfect, B!)

Beyonce knows how to be photo ready

Give Beyonce a gold star in the "be prepared" category — or maybe she'd rather have a diamond.

The 25-year-old pop singer — and new star of the Emporio Armani Diamonds fragrance ad campaign — said she's learned to be photo ready at all times.

She carries three pairs of sunglasses (black, gold and brown) in her purse and a pair of nude-colored or gold shoes, in case she has to elevate her outfit at a moment's notice.

Many "Beyonce sightings" happen while she's shopping, but the superstar said she loves the pastime too much to give it up because of the risk of an unflattering photo.

"I enjoy shopping but I hate trying on clothes," she told The Associated Press in a recent interview.

One of her latest purchases: an 18-karat gold ring with a "hear-no-evil" monkey made of 5 carats' worth of yellow diamonds surrounded by white ones.

"I hear so many crazy things about myself that I'd rather not," she joked.

Beyonce Inks Deal With Giorgio Armani for "Emporio Armani Diamonds"

Beyoncé Knowles is set to be the face - and voice - of Giorgio Armani's new perfume, Emporio Armani Diamonds. The 'Dreamgirls' star will lend her looks and vocal talents to a TV advertising campaign, after being handpicked by the revered Italian designer.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "They have known each other for seven years, and Armani feels Beyoncé represents the glamour and glitz of the fragrance."

The 25-year-old beauty will reportedly sing "an old American song" in the commercials. This is Beyonce's second fragrance deal according to archived news found on SoJones.com. On the fashion site, Beyonce's House of Dereon clothing page, linked news articles reveal the pop and R&B singer formerly signed a deal with Tommy Hilfiger. The 'Crazy In Love' Singer inked and launched a "True Star Gold" fragrance deal with Hilfiger in 2004.

The world-kwown sexy symbol and mega-star has also featured in advertising campaigns for L'Oreal, Pepsi and McDonalds. Emporio Armani Diamonds is set to hit shelves in September.
